Studio Engineering work experience
Each year we run a number of studio engineering workshops where we accept up to six students. Each workshop is in two parts.
Firstly you'll spend a day in the studio with an experienced engineer who will show you how a studio works, what equipment and gadgets you'll find and how to use them, at microphone techniques, and at the recording software. This part is aimed at giving you a good understanding of what's required to capture a good sound recording.
Secondly, at a later date each student will be invited to assist the studio engineer at an actual recording session. This session brings all your knowledge into context and demonstrates to a high degree how all the software and hardware techniques come together in producing quality sound recordings.
We can also arrange bespoke workshops as required.
All students must be at least 14 years old by the date of the workshop. Each workshop is managed by a male and female engineer who both have Enhanced CRB checks.
