Live Sound Engineering work experience
Each year we run a number of live sound engineering workshops where we accept up to six students. Each workshop is in two parts.
Firstly we spend a day at a music venue where we look at the PA equipment and how it works, at microphone techniques etc. We spend time setting up the on-stage monitors and micing up guitar amps etc. Once the stage is setup we then look at setting up the Front of House systems.
This part is aimed at giving the student a good understanding of the equipment required and how to set it up to produce a good live sound.
Secondly, at a later date each student will be invited to assist a sound engineer at an actual gig or concert. This session brings together all their knowledge into context and demonstrates to a high degree how all the techniques come together in producing quality live sound.
We can also arrange bespoke workshops as required.
All students must be at least 14 years old by the date of the workshop. Each workshop is managed by a male and female instructor both have Enhanced CRB checks.
